After a year of separation due to travelling and searching for business opportunities in the market of elderly people, The Dukes will play their official reunion set at the Rumba in Leuven. The party gets started on Wednesday 20th of October. More information on the Existenz website.

Dat café Sint-Job in het mooie Bolderberg een ongelooflijke inspiratiebron is, mag wel duidelijk zijn. The Dukes vertoeven er regelmatig om nieuwe muzikale ideeën op te doen. Buiten de overheerlijke Croque madame'n en blonde Leffe's van het vat wordt er in Sint-Job ook goede muziek gedraaid. Zo passeert David Bowie regelmatig de revue. Om ons nog meer verbonden te voelen met het Bolderbergse uitgaansleven maakte The Dukes volgende Edit! Een mash up van een in glorie vergane stem met breakbeat pompende dukes beats.

Justicalism

Een goede avond allemaal samen. Ja, ik zal maar onmiddellijk vertellen waar het over gaat, want mijn inspiratie is zo wel ongeveer op na een week van voor zot werken. Daarmee, nog es wa dikke platen. Het is eens wat anders dan dansen he. Beloega & Sijs zullen mij in ieder geval wel gelijk geven. Voor wie het mopje niet snapt, de flinke scout in u herinnert zich ongetwijfeld nog de activiteiten georganiseerd door voormalig groepsleider Merel. Juist ja... 'Had je tien miljoen...'.

In ieder geval, deze post gaat over Justicalism. Justice... en Digitalism... En wel in die volgorde. Ten eerste klinkt Digistice nie en ten tweede is Justice gewoon veel beter dan die lelijke Duitsers. Maar goed, omdat de full-cd's van deze 4 heren geen ongemerkte releases hebben gekend in 2007, hebben de Dukes hieraan hun handen eens vuilgemaakt. De mix ligt al ongeveer sinds juni vorig jaar klaar, maar wegens te mottig om em echt af te maken nog niet gepost. Onder het motto "het is goed genoeg om in uwe auto-cd-speler te steken" gooi ik em dan toch maar online. Ik hoop dat ge er van kunt genieten, want tis allemaal nogal ruige boel uiteraard.

Get your ass movin' met een klein mixke op een donderdagnamiddag die gekenmerkt werd door het allesoverheersende 'helmke'-gevoel. Jawadde, DJ Pitch is terug uit Nepal en de baton rouge moest weeral zwaar zwelgen om dat te vieren. Al een geluk dat Vieze Niels ons een beetje heeft kunnen intomen!!
Prince in de clinch met Alter Ego (trouwens een plaat die, zonder edit en in tegenstelling tot wat MC Swiffah beweert, niet de moeite waard is ;-)). Don't have to be beautiful... euh jawel!
